Bunny Butt.

Bunny Butt., originally uploaded by jess sully.

This is what Flynn thinks of my utter lack of posts lately.
Sorry! I've been helping my dad move into his new house (which, by the way, is amazing: so jealous!) and we haven't gotten the internet back up yet.
But I promise: updates by Friday. That's when I'll be moved back into Grand Rapids.

He's looking a lot redder.

Pretty eyes., originally uploaded by jess sully.

Flynn looks redder every time I see him.
Of course, it doesn't help that I don't get to see him as often as I'd like!
On the 22nd, he and I will be moving into my house in Grand Rapids, where we will live happily for three years until I graduate with my bachelor's degree.
And after that... who knows? Perhaps this blog should be renamed:
Flynn the Traveling Red Bunny. :)

New Bun in the House.

Always by your side., originally uploaded by jess sully.

Lots of new happenings at Timothy's house (which is where Flynn has been staying).
First of all, after having Flynn's company for three weeks, he decided that he needed a bunny, too! We picked up Alexander, a little castor buck, from the same breeder that Flynn came from yesterday. Now, before you all warn me that two boys won't get along- they have separate cages, and they are only playing together for a week, until I move back to Grand Rapids and take Flynn with me.

After not seeing another bunny for 3 weeks, Flynn wouldn't let Alex out of his sight.

Hello?

Head Scratchies?, originally uploaded by jess sully.

It's been awhile since I've updated- sorry. My father's wedding was this last weekend and it has been absolutely hectic.
Here's Flynn begging for some cheek scratchies :) He's still doing really well- especially with the litterbox. He had an issue with eating his litter, though, so we bought coated wire to keep him up and off it.
I'm going to Chicago soon, so my guess is that I won't update again until I get back.

Flynn's New Bed.

I got a new bed!, originally uploaded by jess sully.

We are currently in the process of both preparing for my dad's wedding and packing the house (we're moving the DAY AFTER they return from their honeymoon!). During all the hoopla, we discovered this old baby playmat tucked away into the game closet. My dad was going to throw it away, but I decided that it would make a perfect out-of-cage bed for Flynn.
We decided to move Flynn's cage today. It was up on a table in the kitchen; now it is on the floor in the living room so he can come and go as he pleases. And come and go he did! He returned to his cage only to use the litterbox, otherwise, he loved his free time. He had another successful day today out of the cage- not a single accident!
However, before I left for work, when I locked his cage door, he seemed quite distraught. He kept throwing himself at the door with THE most pathetic look on his little red face.

Bo, Timothy's hamster, seemed to like the bed too.

... Almost as much as he liked one of the toys Flynn left lying around.

Settling right in...

Flynn has only been here five days, but he's settled right in. He hasn't peed outside of his litterbox since we got him the new, larger one (except for marking the couch once... I don't know why, but it's the only thing he ever wants to mark), and he's pooping about 85% of the time in there, too. I've seen him flop over a dozen times, no matter how close we are to him, and he actively asks for and happily returns pets- by grooming my fingers (licking/nibbling).

First out of cage flop!, originally uploaded by jess sully.
Here's Flynn's first out of cage flop. He was nudging me, so I started petting him, and the moment I did... he flopped right over and melted into the couch. It was the cutest thing ever, I almost died from shock (didn't really expect him to be this comfortable yet) and cuteness.

As a reward for using his litterbox so well, we decided to let him run around the living room. Well, I took over 100 photos but he was too busy running and binkying to let me get any good shots. They were all terrible- this is one of the best ones I managed to get.
A close up of his pretty face. I love his beautiful red eyelashes.
All tuckered out.

A true irish bun

A true irish bun, originally uploaded by jess sully.

Flynn looking quite irish sniffing at some clover. This picture was taken in the shade without a flash, to show his true color. His color really seems to vary a lot in pictures, depending on the flash and lighting.
This is another one taken yesterday- I don't get to see him today because I have to work all night.
Flynn is staying at a close (and responsible) friend's house for the time being, because there is a lot going on at my house with my parents wedding, packing, and the move to our new house.
It also doesn't help that my soon-to-be stepmother is convinced that she'll be allergic to him, since she's allergic to almost ANYTHING furry and cute.
I was a little nervous that I would be allergic to him, actually, because I'm severely allergic to cats (even though I love them so!). However, I have yet to experience any symptoms whatsoever, even when I get my nose and face really close to his fur.
I am, however, allergic to timothy hay- so I have to be careful to wash my hands thoroughly after handling it.

Thanks, Mom.

Thanks, Mom., originally uploaded by jess sully.

Flynn would like to report that he really, really likes this new litterbox.
Here he is munching away on some hay.
I'm proud to report that there are much less little yellow spots in his tray, for he is actually USING his litterbox, it seems.

The Great Outdoors.

A few new things happened to Flynn today.
1) He got a new litterbox
2) He experienced the great outdoors for the first time
3) He felt comfortable enough to sleep with both ears relaxed and down, even with us sitting and playing cards only a foot or two away from his cage.

Flynn really seems to like the new litterbox, hopefully he will actually pee in it! (He had been peeing right NEXT to his old one.)

Looking a little apprehensive in his carrier, not knowing what was to come.

Striking a pose in the lush grass- this was after he was exhausted from running around and meeting new people all morning.

My boy sure has a pretty face!

My snuggly baby.

Flynn's First Day Home

As soon as we put him in his cage, he went right to work exploring every single square inch of the cage- he tasted and bopped every toy in there, too. He really wasn't as nervous as I thought he'd be- he ate right away, hopped around like crazy, and even settled down in his bed for some sleep.
I can't wait until he dead bunny flops- then I'll know he's REALLY comfortable and happy.
